Churches are typically known for meeting on Sundays, but it would be a shame if that’s all we did.
Community Groups are a central part of The HUB and involve groups of people who meet weekly in someone’s home to get to know one another; love and care for one another; learn about Jesus; and share Jesus with others. You might have been to something similar called a home group or bible study, but we’ve called them Community
Groups to reflect how essential they are to building and deepening relationships. Often people in a Community Group will be catching up during the week socially or to encourage one another.
Once a month, Community Groups share a meal or activity together. This might be at the same house, a park or at the beach. The other weeks we chat, read and discuss the bible, as well as pray together. Community Groups are a great place for our own spiritual growth and maturation, and are always open to bring a friend along to.
We aim to see four things happen in Community Groups:
We want to learn about Jesus - who he is, the things he's done, and the good news of how he's rescued us. As we learn about him, we want to grow in our love for him.
The church is not just a building, but a community of people to belong in. We aim to have Community Groups be the place where everyone develops beautiful and intimate friendships with each other; places where we can laugh, cry, and bless one another.
All of us are on a mission from Jesus - to make disciples, or followers, of him. Community groups are a great place to encourage and pray for each other in this.
A community shaped by the good news of Jesus that doesn't love and take care of people in it has missed something. In our Community Groups we know and look after each other as well as pray and encourage eath other.
